Enzymes in Textile

Enzymes are known to increase the textile processing rate more efficiently, and develop environmentally friendly technologies in textile processing and strategies to improve the final product quality. Application of Industrial enzymes in textile processing has greater advantage that they can accelerate the processing rate without increasing the activation energy, can operate at milder condition (pH and Temperature), ecofriendly, reactions are very specific, easy to monitor their activity according to desired conditions, biodegradable and do not produce toxic waste on degradtion hence there is no pollution. Azymus Lifesciences deliver end to end enzymatic solutions for textile processing which includes Desizing, BioScouring, Bleaching, Dyeing, Bio Stoning or Denim Washing, Silk Degumming, Jute softening (Carbonization), dry cleaning, Finishing and Compositing.

Desizing

In textile industry Amylases are commonly used to remove starch-based size without damaging the support fabric.

Amylase-AzyHT is a liquid alpha-amylase preparation specifically developed for removing starchbased size at high temperature.

Amylase-AzyLT is a liquid form low temperature alpha-amylase preparation specifically designed to remove starch-based size act at low temperature.

BioScouring

Scouring is the process of removing natural waxes, pectins, fats and other impurities from the surface of fibers so that it can be bleached and dyed successfully, enabling significant reductions in water and energy usage.
AzyScour is a formulated scouring enzyme specifically developed for bioscouring process which is effective for low to medium temperature at neutral pH.

Bio-Bleaching

Enzymatic bleaching is introduced to decolorize the natural pigments to give pure white appearance to the fibers. Replacement of hydrogen peroxide by enzymatic bleaching leads to better product quality and less fiber damage.
AzyBleachLC is a low concentrate bleaching enzyme specific for bleaching of textiles to decolorize or eliminate colored flavonoids and confer improved whiteness of fibers.

Bleach clean-up

Bleach clean-up plays a vital role in removing residual peroxides left on the textile during bleaching process. Traditionally bleach clean-up is carried out by multiple water rinses or chemicals such as sodium bisulfate. Applying enzymatic bleach clean-up to remove the residual peroxides is proven to be faster and more cost-effective by breaking down the hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen more effectively.
AzyBleachAL is a broad range enzymatic solution specially formulated for bleach clean-up process that is effective across temperature 37-50ºC and at alkaline pH.

Dyeing

Dye contamination of water bodies are not readily degradable and removed from the effluent by conventional wastewater treatment methods. Application of enzyme is considered the ecofriendly bioremediation for effective reduction of reactive dyes.
PeroxidaseDY is a class of enzyme formulation for effective reduction of selected reactive dyes at optimized concentration, pH ranging from 3-6 with an H2O2 concentration of 8.8 × 10–3 to 8.8 × 10– 5 M at ambient temperature.

Biopolishing

Biopolishing is employed during textile processing, for elimination of micro, fuzzy fibrils from the fabric surfaces through the action of cellulase enzyme. Cellulase treatment improves the appearance, color brightness, hand feel, water absorbance property of fibers and strongly reduce the tendency for pill formation, and provide a cleaner surface structure with less fuzz.
BiopolishNC is a liquid neutral cellulase specifically concentrated for bio-polishing fabric and garments under neutral condition of pH 6.0-8.0 and at an optimum temperature of 50ºC.
BiopolishAC is a liquid acid cellulase preparation to give excellent bio-polishing effect on fabrics at acidic condition of pH 4.5-5.0 and at an optimum temperature of 60ºC.

Denim Washing

Traditional washing of denim garments by pumice stones has many disadvantages. Back-staining is one of the big problem after cellulase treatment. Protease treatment is considered a new player for Denim washing.
Azy-DenimPR is a concentrated liquid protease formulation developed to add after cellulase treatment. The enzyme concentrate is effective at alkaline pH 6.0-10.0 and at ambient temperature of 30-50ºC.
